Evangelism/Outreach Ministry

Carry living water to thirsty souls? The heart of this ministry is to advance the Kingdom of God by sharing the Gospel in the Baton Rouge area. Our goal is to win lost souls to Christ by going out into the city proclaiming the truth of the Gospel, finding and obeying the heart of God on how to meet the practical needs of the lost, and sharing God’s mercy, love and care for them.

We want to bring the harvest to Hosanna so that the new convert and the unchurched can be baptized, discipled, and equipped to do the Lord’s work of reconciling the world to Christ. This will be accomplished, among other things, by monthly street witnessing, quarterly door-to-door neighborhood evangelism, and semi-annual outreaches in under-privileged neighborhoods. What is the criteria for this ministry? It is willing hearts and donated time spurred by love.

Missions Ministry

• The whole New Testament tells the story of those who chose to see a world outside their own. You can join in this New Testament adventure! The Missions Ministry seeks to help fulfill the Great Commission by increasing the awareness of the local body of believers of the importance of supporting our missionaries throughout the world in their efforts to evangelize the lost. We also want to encourage the sending out of new missionaries from the local church. Great opportunities right here in your own backyard can be found by getting involved with the Chi Alpha Chapter at LSU, the Annual Missions Conference, and proposed yearly missions trips. Through your financial giving and your faithful prayer support, you can have a part in reaching island nations, building schools in Latin American countries, reaching university students in Europe, etc. Read the PowerLink article, “World Focus,” each month to keep informed about missions happenings worldwide and see the Missions Wall in the foyer to know who to pray for or write to.
